Associate Medical Director of Infection Prevention & Control - Hospital Epidemiology

The Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University seeks a faculty member with Epidemiology experience in Healthcare Systems to join the Division as an Assistant Professor in the University Medical Line or Clinical Assistant Professor in the Clinician Educator Line. We are particularly interested in candidates who have relevant training and research interests in Infection Control and Healthcare Epidemiology.

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent in medicine, with board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, possesses or is capable of obtaining a State of California Medical Board License, and have successfully completed Infection Control and Healthcare Epidemiology training or have equivalent experience. The Associate Medical Director works in partnership with the current Hospital Epidemiologist/Medical Director of the Infection Prevention and Control Department of Stanford Healthcare (SHC). In collaboration with the Hospital Epidemiologist, the Associate Medical Director is responsible for ensuring SHC's compliance with The Joint Commission, State, and Federal regulatory requirements for the Infection Prevention and Control Department. The successful candidate will assist with overseeing staff and managing all infection control protocols, policies, and procedures of the Infection Prevention and Control Department. We expect the successful candidate to demonstrate the potential for establishing a research program and be scientifically productive based on local research opportunities.

The major criteria for appointment to the University Medical Line are excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic needs the individual is expected to fulfill. The major criteria for appointment to the Clinician Educator Line are excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative service and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic needs the individual is expected to fulfill. Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
