Job Description Summary
The primary function of this position will be to support Dr. Laura Dember, and her research team with the coordination of a multi-site NIH-funded clinical trial being conducted under an FDA IND. The trial is investigating whether study interventions reduce the negative impact of pain on the lives of people who receive hemodialysis for kidney failure. The research coordinator will work with the study team to maintain trial documentation consistent with Standard Operating Procedures for an IND study. The research coordinator will also assist the study team in the scheduling and execution of regular trial meetings and other consortium-related functions (e.g., Steering Committee Meetings). Specific tasks may include: 1) assisting team members with regulatory documentation (IND, IRB); 2) meeting coordination (scheduling, agenda preparation, meeting reminders); 3) assist team members in maintaining consortium documentation; 4) distribution of reports to the consortium on a regular basis; 5) supply ordering and delivery coordination for 14 or more recruitment sites; 6) coordinate meetings of the Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) members and Patient Advisors as needed; 7) tracking training progress for recruitment site research coordinators; 8) attending weekly consortium meetings. The research coordinator will also perform additional duties as needed.

The research coordinator will work with the study team to maintain trial documentation consistent with Standard Operating Procedures for an IND study. Principal duties include assisting the study team in maintaining consortium documentation, facilitating study meetings, tracking recruitment site research coordinator training, and facilitating stipend payments to members of the DSMB and Patient Advisory Group, as needed. The research coordinator may be asked to complete other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 1-2 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Must have practical experience working in a research setting and be comfortable interacting with research personnel; preferably have regulatory experience (i.e. adverse event documentation & reporting). The successful candidate should also possess skills in time management, attention to detail, and problem solving, as well as clear and effective communication skills (writing, speaking, and active listening).

This position is contingent upon funding.
